Use an alternate search engine or your own Solr version and/or Solr configuration

We are providing 3 Solr versions with configuration files (schema.xml and solrconfig.xml) ready to use with Crawl-Anywhere and its default web search application. However, you may decide to process the data provided by Crawl-Anywhere in a totally different way. For example, you can :

  • Use an other Solr version with the same configuration files
  • Use an other or the same Solr version with a different configuration
  • Use any other tools or search engines

Use an other Solr version with the same configuration files

If you need to use an other Solr version, please read this page.

Use an other or the same Solr version with a different configuration

If you do this, you wont’ be able to use Crawl-Anywhere’s default web search application. You will use your own schema. The pipeline will have to create xml output files adapted to your schema. To do this, you will have to modify the SorlIndexerQueueWriter stage’s configuration. See, SorlIndexerQueueWriter stage documentation.

Use any other tools or search engines

The pipeline will have to create totally different output files. You will have to replace SorlIndexerQueueWriter stage by your own stage. You will be responsible to process new pipeline output files with your own application (Crawl-anywhere indexer can’t be use).
